Chad joined Etsy as Chief Technology Officer in September 2008 and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in July 2011. Chad came to Etsy from Yahoo!, where he led the Brickhouse and Advanced Products teams and launched the Hack Day program globally. Prior to Yahoo!, he served as CTO of InfoWorld Media Group (IDG), CTO of Salon.com and held various engineering positions at CNN, CNN/Sports Illustrated, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC). Chad holds a BA in English literature from Duke University.
